Uzbekistan Energy Minister signed a photovoltaic power plant cooperation agreement with Chinese companies during his visit to China

The Uzbekistan Ministry of Energy website reported on February 20 that Uzbekistan Energy Minister Mirza Mahmudov led a delegation to visit China. A cooperation agreement on the construction of a photovoltaic power plant project with a total installed capacity of 2,000 MW between the two states of Tashkent. According to the agreement, the Chinese side invested 2 billion U.S. dollars. The project plans to put into operation the first batch of generating units at the end of 2023 and run at full capacity in 2024. After it is fully put into operation, it is expected to generate 5 billion kWh annually and save 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
